This workshop will feature industry experts who will provide information on technologies and emerging global markets in the Biomass sector, technologies and emerging global markets in the Waste-to-Energy sector, and the policies and regulations that will drive and shape growth in both sectors.
It is the third in a series of four highly informative, interactive workshops where you will have the opportunity to gain broad global insights from national experts on each of the advanced energy roadmap industry sectors. This small workshop setting will allow you to raise and discuss your questions and issues with these globally respected industry experts:
Ned Stow, Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI)
Mr. Stow supports EESI’s work promoting the development of sustainable biomass energy resources as a key part of the nation’s climate change mitigation strategy. In addition to his years of experience in Washington, he conducted environmental policy research at the University of Illinois.
Marco Castaldi, Columbia University, Henry Krumb School of Mines
Assistant Professor in the Earth & Environmental Engineering Department, he is currently involved in research in environmentally benign energy technologies. Mr. Castaldi has a number of inventions as a result of his research, supported by 6 issued and 2 pending US patents.
Paul Hauck, Camp Dresser McKee, Inc. (CDM)
Paul L. Hauck, P.E., is a senior environmental engineer with more than 34 years of engineering experience in the nuclear and electric power generation, municipal solid waste-to-energy construction, public works, and fuel ethanol industries.
NorTech Energy Enterprise is developing four advanced energy roadmaps focusing on sectors with compelling regional assets and global market opportunities for Northeast Ohio: transportation electrification, energy storage, biomass/waste-to-energy, and smart grid. This workshop is being hosted as part of NorTech's efforts on the development of a roadmap in the biomass/waste-to-energy sector.
